The most depressing day of the year.....18th January 2010 !!

According to a british researcher from Cardiff University , January 18th is 2010's most depressing day. His formula for this takes into account factors like post-holiday blahs and debts, New Year's resolutions and this year the nasty chill that has reached much further south than usual. Apparently this time of year is the peak for feeling low. I would like to know what you think. For me this definately wasn't the most depressing day of this year.

With the help of a dear friend I managed to make a replica of the weather chart my 5 year old son has in his classroom and for some reason he wanted to have one at home !!

The beginning of a new year, the year 2010.

A new year brings new beginnings, new habits, stopping of old ones and maybe changes. Well for our family a day at the beach is something that will not be changed for a long time, whether it is summer or winter we love our days at the beach. We did some fishing well our friend really, but hey we were supporting him. So what better way to spend the very first day of 2010.

The end of this delightful day was a spectacular sunset.

Time to make that log. I love all the Christmas goodies but if I have to choose just two it will definitely be the Christmas log and mulled wine oh and maybe Baileys too!

And now to all of you out there :

I wish you all a year full of love, health and happiness xxx

Well here I am again. With too many things to do around the house, kids to entertain and a baby to keep well fed and carried it's becoming close to impossible for me to sit down here download photos and blog about them.

Here are some photos from the past week. From a visit to Valletta in the evening to the Christmas village in Gudja and Christmas day.

There is also something I want to share : my 5 year old son on Christmas day whilst driving back home in the evening after visiting family he announced that Santa will have to come home again and leave presents because the 25th is not over yet!!!

busy busy busy...... with the festive season on full swing, swapping project that needs to be finished ,preparations for my little baby girl's christening which include baking 2 cakes (one for the newly arrived cousin Julia and for Leah) decorating them, buying some party clothes for all the family (not an easy task with Leah who is constantly attached to me ;)and also organising the party food's list. Plus, football training for my son, gymnastic training for the girl, all the washing and folding of clothes that are never out of the way phew and in all this I have to also find time to clean a little the house, cook , read and spend some time with my friends drinking a cup of coffee and having a chat . Well I want to show you one of the christening cakes. Oh!! and I forgot to mention that every day after school we have a couple of stressful hours with homework :( and somewhere I have to squeeze in family time and fun time too :) but I thank god that I have all this. Now I have to get on with my day......... wish you all a blessed Sunday

Hand made swapping.....

Some time ago I decided to enter this hand made swapping on one of the many blogs I read. So coming from Germany, last week I have received this. My gift is still under construction (it's not easy trying to finish anything in time with a demanding newborn :)) however I am hoping that by the end of this week mine will be on its way too.

Children's books......
I like reading reviews about children's book especially when reviews come from fellow bloggers like myself who have children. This is a funny book that talks about the wonderings of skeletons. I also wanted to post some crafts the kids have recently done with a dear friend.

weekend summary in photos..........we had my son's first football match, a picnic and reading with nannu (grandfather).

Picnic time ........baking cakes. Last weekend my son wanted to make a chocolate cake. I helped him with making this chocolate cake, then him and his sister decorated the cake all by themselves. Sunday afternoon we packed our picnic bags and off to Ta'Qali.

A morning to the city.........my kids passports had expired earlier this year and so since Christmas is getting closer I felt the necessity to renew them :) and to have one done for our little missy as well. I will not mention the 'I am tired mum' or "I am hungry and need a kit-kat mum' or 'I want to go home now' but I will tell you that the pigeons made the trip in and out of Valletta ......mmmmm ... how shall I put this......more bearable maybe!!

...and me? .... well there I was with my little baby girl. What did I do you ask? Well there was coffee with my dear friend and then organizing and cleaning a messy house, preparing food, doing laundry, reading, crocheting and a little of blogging too.

Help!! I've got a big lizard in the house!! .....a few days ago I was minding my own business sorting out laundry in the bathroom when I discovered a small lizard crawling around the bathroom window!! I actually thought its disgusting so I quickly phoned my hubby and told him he had to come home immediately!! Hubby obliged and came home, however the little monster had creeped somewhere and we could not find it. The day after the kids saw it and brave as they are they put the bathroom stool over it to trap it then my young super hero got a tissue paper and grabbed it!! hehe well done to my little man!!

Yesterday while I was on the phone talking to hubby this huge lizard crawled in............
